We are small, registered and deliberately accountable. Whatever you give — funding, an hour on a Sunday, a venue or a skill — you will be told precisely where it went.

We would rather have the right kind of support than the largest. If what you are offering is not something we can use well, we will say so.

We do not ask for support in the abstract. Choose the thing you want to make happen, and we will tell you exactly what it costs and what it delivers — then afterwards, who it reached.
A term of dignity
Sanitary products for one young woman for a full school term — and the school days she would otherwise have missed.
A year of dignity
The same, for a full academic year, so that no term is the one she has to sit out.
A place at camp
Sends one young woman to the Queen Leadership Camp, including her travel, meals and materials.
A full outreach
Funds one Giving Hand outreach in a community: dignity packs, school supplies and the logistics to deliver them properly.
A matric farewell
The dress, the shoes, the hair, the transport. In her final year the farewell is the night a girl is meant to feel seen — and when a family cannot meet the cost, she simply stays home. Fund one, and she goes.
A year of Sundays
Covers the data a member needs to be in her Queen Circle every Sunday for a year, so that the cost of an hour online is never the reason she misses it.
How to give
We are a registered non-profit organisation and can receive direct transfers. Tell us what you would like to fund and we will send you the current costing and our banking details, confirm receipt in writing, and report back on where it went.
Monthly giving is the most useful thing to us, because it is the only kind of income we can plan a year of Circles around.
What you get back
- Written confirmation of receipt within two working days
- A short report on what your specific contribution funded
- Photographs only where the people in them have consented
- An honest note when something did not go to plan
- No unsolicited follow-up asking for more
For South African donors
Tax-deductible giving, once SARS confirms
Our Public Benefit Organisation registration with SARS is in progress. We expect confirmation around September 2026, though SARS decides both whether and when. From the date SARS sets, South African individuals and companies will be able to claim donations to I AM A QUEEN as a deduction under Section 18A of the Income Tax Act, and we will issue the certificate automatically with your receipt.
If you would like to give before then you are very welcome to, but we cannot promise a Section 18A certificate for it: SARS sets an effective date when it approves a registration, and only donations received on or after that date can be receipted under Section 18A. We will record your gift and tell you which side of that date it falls on as soon as we know. Until SARS has confirmed the registration, we will not claim the status.

Partnership, on terms you can audit.
We work with companies, schools, foundations, clinics and community organisations. The partnerships that work best are the ones where the partner brings something they already have — a hall, a bursary route, a professional network — rather than something they have to invent for us.

- No use of members' images or stories without their consent
Mentor
For individuals
Mentoring: an hour every Sunday, for a year.
The single most valuable thing anyone gives this organisation is not money. It is an adult who turns up for the same young women week after week, until being known stops feeling remarkable to them.
Circles run online at 17:00 on a Sunday, so mentoring costs you an hour and no travel. You do not need a qualification, a background in youth work, or an inspiring story. You need to be reliable, and you need to be able to listen without immediately fixing.
What we ask
- A minimum commitment of one year to one Circle
- One hour online every Sunday at 17:00, plus occasional check-ins
- Notice when you cannot make a Sunday, so a co-mentor can cover
- Completion of our mentor training before your first session
- Consent to screening, including a background check
- Adherence to our child protection and safeguarding policy
What we provide
- Training before you start, and a co-mentor in every Circle
- Session outlines each week — you are never asked to improvise
- Data support, so the weekly commitment costs you nothing
- A staff contact you can call when something difficult comes up
- A clear route to step back if your circumstances change
Host & supply
In-kind support we genuinely need
Not everything useful is money. These are the things we currently have to pay for or go without.
A hall or a camp site
Somewhere our members can gather in person — a hall for an outreach, a venue for a members' gathering, or a site that can host the Leadership Camp for a few days.
Products and stationery
Sanitary products, exercise books, pens, backpacks and uniform essentials — in quantity, from wholesalers or manufacturers.
Transport and printing
Getting members to a camp and materials to an outreach is a real line item. Vehicles, fuel and printing all reduce it.
Professional time
Accountants, lawyers, designers, photographers and social workers who can give a few hours a quarter to the organisation itself.
Doors into work
Job shadowing, interview practice, CV review, internships and learnerships for members aged 18 and above.
An introduction
